PERSONALITY
On a first impression Gianni comes off as an inquisitive young man, no pun intended. He has the air of someone out to learn everything, with a keen eye for detail and an ear for subtext. He’s always wanted to learn more about the world in which he lives, from the ancient and piecemeal history of his people to the cultures of other nations and races. He loves stories and is quick to either listen to them or tell one of his own, even if it’s to his own embarrassment. He has very little shame, glad to share a laugh at his own expense just as readily as someone else’s. He loves to play jokes and is always ready with a snappy comeback or witty one-liner.
His easygoing manner belies an exceptionally keen and calculating mind, however. While he is genuinely friendly, he is not a fool. He gambles a bit in where he places his trust, but he does it calculatingly, assessing what the poorest outcome could be and deciding if he could live with that before proceeding. In doing so, Gianni is rarely surprised. It has been known to happen, but his policy of expecting the worst while actively hoping and working towards the best keeps him in an excellent position to adapt to any new obstacles before they become insurmountable. For example, Gianni allowed Dorian to join the Inquisition, taking him at his word that he truly wanted to help, but knowing that there was the possibility of his being a Venatori spy. He also knew Leliana would keep a close eye on the mage, and it all turned out fine in the end.
This goes hand in hand with Gianni’s take on faith. Not necessarily religious faith, but Gianni honestly believes in people’s capacity to do good in general and uses that belief to guide some of his decisions. Despite the stigma surrounding the mages and their rebellion, Gianni is still adamant about offering for them to join the Inquisition freely despite many of his advisors and companions telling him he should conscript them or even leave them out for the safety of everyone involved. Again, Gianni’s faith in them paid off as the mages became valuable allies to the Inquisition, which Gianni attributes to treating mages like people, instead of criminals.
All that said Gianni rarely lets himself feel negatively about anything. Even in serious conversation, he always tries to bring up a silver lining, keeping his worries and any sense of foreboding to himself. Because he bottles up any negativity he feels so completely, there are times when he can be pushed to his limit. Facing the loss of a loved one, failing at something that lives may depend on, or other events of serious import always catch Gianni flat footed and he doesn’t know how to respond. If he can, he’ll deal with the logistics of a situation quickly and then retreat to sleep as emotional turmoil exhausts him far more than any physical exertion, but if unable to resolve or retreat, his usually amusing comments will become acerbic or even downright vicious, his well-learned decorum going straight out a window. He’s quick to apologize after the fact, but in the moment he aims to hurt and aims well.
Still, that’s not the norm and in general Gianni is a perfectly affable person with a cunning ear that may learn more about you from what you’re not saying than what you are.

ABOUT
Gianni Lavellan is a Dalish rogue who went to the Divine's Conclave to spy on the proceedings for her clan. He didn't go alone, however; his twin sister accompanied him and the two unintentionally became the epicenter of events that would shape Thedas forever.
Gianni is the Inquisitor for his world state, but so is his sister, Lannistia. The two run the Inquisition jointly. His specifics can be found in his app here. For reference, the Warden was a Dalish rouge named Lark who romanced Leliana and Adalwolfe Hawke is the Champion of Kirkwall who sided with the mages and romanced Anders.
APPEARANCE
Standing at a mere 5'5", Gianni is a bit under average height for his race and quite fair complexioned, made colorful by a splattering of freckles from cheeks all the way down his shoulders. He has burnished copper-red hair that he usually keeps long but swept back into a handy ponytail so it doesn't impair his vision. His eyes are clear blue and his deep red vallaslin tattoos frame his eyes in dedication to Mythal.
He has a lithe build and moves with a practiced ease, very aware at all times even if he appears to be completely relaxed. His posture is usually very assured, though he always seems to be moving in little ways whether it's tossing something up and down, shifting his posture back and forth on his feet, or tapping his fingers on the table. He's only very still when he's angry or hurt beyond words.
ABILITIES
Gianni is a dual-dagger rogue with a specialization as a Tempest, which allows him to use special alchemical flasks to add elemental effects to his melee attacks. He has the entirety of both of these trees with the exception of the Trespasser dependent skills. He also has the Stealth, Evasion, Easy to Miss, and Evade from the Subterfuge tree to round out his rogueyness.
On top of this, as Inquisitor, Gianni has a magical mark on his left hand that glows green and reacts to the Fade (sort of a spirit realm connected to Thedas). He can draw energy from the Fade with it to power an attack, kill demons, and open or close rifts into the Fade. However, since Pelea as far as I'm aware has no connection to the Fade, these powers will be unavailable. The mark itself still remains.
